Full Security Risk Assessment Process

The following is a brief outline of what you can expect when we conduct a security risk assessment on your behalf.

Pre-inspection

Before coming to your site for Security Risk Assessment we will request any available documents which may assist us in developing an understanding of your security equipment and procedures. Typically, these include a list of employees, (home and office) the agreement you have with your present security company and a map of the site. This is done to save you time. If you do not have these documents readily available, we will gain the necessary information through discussion with your chosen representative at office and family members at home

SECURITY ADVISOR

Interviews

We then conduct a series of interviews with select members of your staff and family with a view to understanding your specific security challenges. First, we will meet with your security manager or representative and home owner for a brief tour of the site and an in-depth discussion on security procedures (3 to 4 hours). We will then work at a business with you to establish a representational cross section of staff; At business level this would include department heads, members of senior management, receptionists, security officers and shipping or receiving personnel and at residential family and domestic workers some case security company involved with your security processes.

Each interview will average 45 to 60 minutes. Depending on your staff complement, this part of the assessment may take 3 to 4 days.

Site inspection

Once the interviews are completed we will conduct thorough day and night inspections of your site and the surrounding neighbourhood, focusing on vulnerable areas such as the building’s lobby, loading docks, parking lot; local informal settlements and vacant areas. We may also spend some time observing activity in and around these areas.

Assessment

When the site inspection is complete, we will hand our preliminary findings and commence the assessment process. This includes identifying your critical assets and potential vulnerabilities, studying crime forecasts for your area and evaluating your existing security measures against these factors. There may also be a need for further interviews or investigation of the site if our data requires any clarification. This takes approximately two weeks, after which, we will hand over an initial draft security risk assessment report and meet with you for your feedback, questions and any additional issues that may have come to mind.

Feedback
